Board Meeting
10/11/06

7:03 PM     Meeting called to order by Chair Aaron Gray

* Board Members Aaron Gray, , Rich Watson, Matt Svymbersky, Tim Batog, Matt Hoffman, Amanda Barry, Larry Fellows, Janice Thompson, Brenda Ray Scott, Doretta Schrock, and Tim Lyden are in attendance.

* Also in attendance are Tom Griffin-Valade Director of North Portland Neighborhood Services, John Batchelor of the Mock Crest Tavern, Jillian Detweiller of Trimet, and Rod McDonald a resident of Kenton.    

7:04 PM    September Meeting Minutes distributed by Secretary Matt Svymbersky.

* Meeting Minutes read over by Board members.

* BOARD ACTION:  Board Member Janice Thompson moves to accept  the September meeting minutes. Board Member Tim Batog seconds. Minutes approved unanimously.

7:05 PM    Treasure Report Presented by Treasurer Brenda Ray Scott.

* Brenda reports that the consolidation of funds has not yet occurred as she still needs to connect with the folks involved.
* Brenda reports that a tax payer ID # has been secured for the KNA.
* Brenda reports that she will send an email with all of the information needed for approval so that KNA members will be able to comment.



7:06 PM    Grant Proposals

* Brenda reports wanting to pursue grant money but says that she would like buy in from the Board regarding the idea of doing so.
* Doretta says that she and Brenda will talk about potential proposals.
* They report that they will send an email to KNA Board Members regarding any grant proposal ideas.
* Tom suggests that some grant proposal ideas may come up in the Visioning process.



7:10 PM     KNA Calendar

* Matt Svymbersky raises the fact that going through with another KNA calendar similar to last year’s would need to be decided very soon if folks wish to use it as a fund raiser.
* Brenda reports that she would like to talk more about that idea before approving it.
7:11 PM    Trimet Triad Site
* Jillian Detweiller reports that currently poles are being stored on the site.
* She reports that there has been interest in having a non-profit or light industry operate on the site until redevelopment would begin.
* She reports that Trimet would like to keep the site “active: until redevelopment.
* She reports that Trimet hopes to have an Interstate Ave./MLK Developer tour in November.
