Kenton Neighborhood Association Board Meeting 4/12/06 Attendance Recorded in Sign In Book. * Introductions of Board Members * Conference Call creates a quorum. * Amanda Fritz Campaign Rep introduces herself and encourages questions. * Tina Kotek Campaign Rep introduces himself and reports of a candidates forum Tuesday April 25th 7-9pm at University Park Methodist Church 4775 N. Lombard. * June 21st – A proposal surfaced in St. Johns to gauge interest in feeding officers during a 24 hour period on June 21st. Next month a sign up sheet will be handed out. In Kenton’s meeting as well. * Clean-Up North Portland – Sat April 22nd 10am – 3pm. St. John Lutheran Church Parking Lot. * Community Shred - Sat April 22nd 10am-1pm at the Kenton Community Policing Office. * Trenton Community Park Celebration – May 24th * Rich Moves to allow the appointment of Matt Hoffman and Amanda Barry to the Kenton Board. Next one April 26th. * Denver Avenue Citizen Advisory Committee. PDC is looking for Kenton neighbors to join a committee to look into improvements to the Downtown Kenton Streetscape. Would include approx. 6 months of monthly meetings from 6:30-8:30pm. Three neighbors indicate interest (including new board members Amanda Barry and Matt Hoffman) * PIR – Variance request. Denied 9am start time for the races on Sunday the week of June 18th. PIR appealed to Portland City Council. Doretta reports that they begin warming up at 9am and do not need as much time necessarily. Amanda Barry and Brenda Ray Scott report that helicopters and announcements from the track add to the noise. Matt Hoffman would like KNA to make a statement supporting the denial of the variance request. Rich makes a motion. Aaron second. Passes unanimously. Matt Hoffman will draft letter and submit to KNA email for feedback. * Chris Duffy from Arbor Lodge NA - Portland Blvd rename to Rosa Parks – Meeting at the North Portland Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center from 4/19 7-9pm to discuss whether PTLD BLVD is the best fit for the rename. City staff will be present to hear comments. * Question raised about the status of the KNA Website. Status is unknown by current members. Amanda Barry and Matt Hoffman report that they can assist if needed. * Kenton Downtown Redevelopment Plan Presentation – o Process has been going since Oct. and chose Johnson Gardner to develop plans for Downtown Kenton. o Kenton Village lease to Cup and Saucer tentatively announced. o Many Hanlon – Purchased City of Roses Motel and will work to build 17 town houses on the property using high quality plans and materials. o Vacant Lot by park – rumor has it that it will be mixed use. o Terrel Brandon’s property may include a clothes store, recording studio, and rentals on the second floor. o Trimet has purchased the Triad Mechanical site to support the community as part of the Interstate line. Trimet would like to move forward with planning for redevelopment. They would like to create a committee of community members to help in planning. |
